DOOM - Music from E1M1
30 Day Video Game Challenge, Day 2: Favorite character
Doomguy first appeared in the 1993 videogame DOOM, and…
Oh, who am I kidding. We all know Doomguy, right? The super soldier that went knee-deep into the dead and through Hell itself, he is one fearsome space-marine.
Even tho he’s a silent protagonist, except for a few grunts and screams, his backstory and incredible feat of being able to hold a ginormous arsenal of weapons all at once is what makes Doomguy awesome.
As the last man standing, the player character’s mission is to fight through the entire onslaught of demonic enemies by himself in order to keep them from attacking Earth. In order for the game to be completed, the marine must fight through Phobos, Deimos, and then Hell itself, each presented as an episode containing eight distinct levels, along with an optional ninth hidden level for each one.
Come to think of it, he was stationed on Mars as a punishment because he assaulted his commanding officer, some say he even murdered him, because he was ordered to shoot at civilians. Rough!
